Hello, my name is Madelyn Torres, and I am a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have worked in community mental health, medical social work, and geriatrics since 2016. I have served many populations struggling with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, low self-esteem, postpartum depression, narcissistic abuse, and codependent relationships. I am passionate about working with women of color in the Latinx Community struggling with complex trauma, family issues, postpartum depression, marital issues, grief, job-related stress, and school-related stress. I received my master’s degree in social work from Boston University with a specialization in trauma and domestic violence and my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of San Francisco. My goal as your therapist is to empower you and honor your space and your story. You are in control of how we utilize our time together, whether that be mindfulness techniques, spirituality, or exploring past trauma and early childhood experiences. In my practice, I utilize a strength-based and trauma-informed approach along with cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, attachment-based therapy, motivational interviewing, and behavioral activation. Healing and emotional recovery begin by working together collaboratively to find the strength that was always in you.
