Brief Overview:

Coordinates a variety ofadministrative and clinical support tasks for virtual & in-personpatients, including, but not limited to, scheduling visits, thechecking in/out of patients, collection of funds for service, followup calls, and obtaining medical records. Accurate and completepatient demographic information in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).Adheres to timely access standards for new patient referrals, alongwith ensuring all new and follow-up appointments are scheduled inaccordance with company protocol.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Care Coordinator I:
    • Proficient entry of patient demographic and medical data into medical EMR.
    • Answers incoming calls.
    • Timely response to voice mail messaging.
    • Schedules patient appointments in EMR.
    • Manages patient health information in EMR.
    • Informs patient to provide any relevant medical records.
    • Verifies patient insurance eligibility and verification.
    • Collects co-payments and outstanding balances, as applicable.
    • Consistently meets established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards.
    • Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
    • Ability to problem solve patient concerns.
    • Other duties as directed.
  • Care Coordinator II:
    • All Care Coordinator I responsibilities
    • Serve as a liaison for training new team members
    • Assist with problem solving and resolving patient concerns
  • Care Coordinator III:
    • All Care Coordinator I & II responsibilities
    • Leads and is accountable for new team member training and development for 30-, 60-, & 90-day expectations
    • Support Clinical Operations Managers and Directors in various responsibilities
    • Serves as a team lead to disseminate updates on a routine basis.
    • Foster overall team productivity
    • Set team goals for daily, weekly, & monthly objectives

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Proficient with computer and Windows PC applications
  • Proficient with MS Office required (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Ability to perform standard clinical processes according to established protocols, within the Medical Assistant scope of work
  • Possess and demonstrate a positive attitude
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to understand and carry out written or oral instructions

Education/ Experience Required:

  • Medical Assistant I:
    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Active Medical Assistant certification required in some states
    • Previous experience utilizing an EMR/EHR
    • Experience in front/back medical office setting environment
    • Telemedicine experience a plus
  • Medical Assistant II:
    • Medical Assistant I requirements
    • Minimum 12 months experience at TeleMed2U or equivalent
    • Proficient on all areas of the EMR and can navigate seamlessly and complete most if not all functions
    • Demonstrates cross functional aptitude across most areas of the division
  • Medical Assistant III:
    • Medical Assistant I & II requirements
    • Minimum 24 months of experience at TeleMed2U or equivalent
    • Expert in all systems, tools, and EMR functionality, as applicable

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of desk work and computer usage.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
